peonies- an every changing bloom

I know I keep talking about these beautiful flowers but I seriously cannot help myself! They are gorgeous and I just want to photograph them and draw them all day long. The latest photoshoot that I did for Kaitlyn of Knot and Thread Design was the first time that I have ever had the beautiful deep Peach Colored Peonies in my home and I was SO surprised by them!!

They don’t have the signature peony scent that I am used to which caught me off guard and they opened shockingly fast!! But what truly astonished me is how rapidly they change, transforming almost into a new flower with each passing day. Check out the last few photos to see the changes, they don’t even look like the same bloom from day to day- Nature is wild!!
