starting with sashiko

Sashiko stitching has intrigued me for a very long time. I love the simple meditative feeling that you get from hand stitching. I especially love the look of big chunky stitches and maybe this is why I love using big stitch binding to finish my quilts. Either way, I have wanted to give Sashiko stitching a try for such a long time. I grabbed this book not too long ago and have loved flipping through it to see all of the wonderful projects. I hope I can sneak some time in to work on some fun projects soon. Maybe I’ll even get brave enough one day to try visible mending. I think it’s SO pretty!!
